Isabel graduated from the Singapore Management University in 2022 with double degrees in Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Business Management (Hons). She was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2023.

Isabel’s main areas of practice include commercial litigation and construction disputes. She has worked on a broad range of commercial disputes involving contractual, negligence and property disputes.

Separately, Isabel has advised companies and individuals on diverse matters, ranging from their legal obligations under the Building Control Act to restraint of trade/ non-competition clauses in employment and commercial contracts.

Isabel is bilingual in English and Mandarin.

Litigation

  • Assisted in a High Court construction law suit involving a claim for breach of statutory duty and negligence against a sub-contractor.
  • Assisted in an application to set aside a Mareva injunction.
  • Assisted in defending a claim against an individual for medical negligence.
  • Assisted in providing legal support in a divorce matter.
  • Assisted in a co-ownership dispute over an immovable property.
  • Assisted in the defence of a High Court claim in relation to allegations of fraudulent misrepresentation, neligence and dishonest assistance in alleged breach of trust.
  • Assisted in an arbitation involving a claim against a Singapore company for breaches of a shareholders' agreement.
  • Assisted in defending an individual against offences under the Workplace Safety and Health Act.
  • Assisted in obtaining enforcement orders against respondents for failure to comply with court orders.
  • Assisted in an urgent application to commence statutory derivative action on behalf of a company under s 216A of the Companies Act.
  • Assisted in a mediation session involving disputes over property ownership.
  • Assisted in defending a company against a personal injury claim and negotiating a settlement agreement.
  • Assisted in applications to strike out pleadings.
  • Assisted in commencing and defending against committal proceedings.
  • Issued demand letters and obtained default judgments against various companies for failure to pay invoices which were due and owing.
  • Issued cease and desist letters for defamation and harassment.

Corporate

  • Assisted in advising clients on issues relating to minority oppression under the Companies Act.
  • Assisted in advising a client on potential trademark infringement issues.
  • Assisted an individual to apply for letters of administration (probate).
  • Assisted in advising clients on restraint of trade clauses and the reasonableness test in employment contracts.
